TRAINING FOR MISSION

SOUL-LIFT DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH DR D.M. TIKILI

DATE: Saturday, September 25 2021.

TOPIC: TRAINING FOR MISSION

DEVOTIONAL READING:
1 Samuel 17:40-45.

KEY VERSE: Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
(1 Samuel 17:45).

BIBLE CHARCATER IN VIEW: DAVID.

In the key verse, David makes a statement that explains his mission. The battle against Goliath was one between secular and spiritual powers. Everything would have changed had David not understood his mission.

To have been able to understand his mission signifies David was a man of deep prayer, worship, and faith. He needed prayer for the courage to challenge the giant. He needed worship to know that it was a spiritual battle. Whereas he needed a well-practiced faith to believe he could succeed.

Generally speaking, we can identify with David’s fight of righteousness against evil. Our adversary is the father of lies. David knew that a spiritual battle must be engaged that day. He knew it must be that day and he was ready for it.
