SEARCHING OUT UNCONFESSED SIN.

SOUL-LIFT DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH DR D.M. TIKILI.

DATE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 2021.

TOPIC: SEARCHING OUT UNCONFESSED SIN.

DEVOTIONAL READING:
EXODUS 4

KEY VERSE: Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. (Exodus 4:25).

BIBLE CHARACTER: ZIPPORAH

In the days after he had killed the Egyptian, Moses lived in the desert, tending flocks. Here he married Zipporah and fathered two sons. Some time later, GOD told Moses to return to Egypt to lead the Hebrews out of slavery.

On the journey there, Moses was reminded of some unfinished business. He had forgotten or ignored GOD’s command to circumcise his second son. Now GOD was angry with him, and his life was in danger. Zipporah quickly performed the operation on her son. After she finished, Moses recovered rapidly.

When we suffer physically or emotionally, we should examine our lives to see if we are harboring any deliberate sin. GOD could be using the ailment to focus our attention on our unconfessed thoughts and deeds. If our suffering results from disobeying GOD’s commands, James 5:14-16 promises that we can find the same quick relief that Moses found by decisive confession and obedience in faith.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If Your Well-Being Has Ben Affected By Sin, Take To Heart Zipporah’s Cure.

FURTHER READING: Zipporah’s story is told in Exodus 2:21-22; 4:18-26.
